Peter Van Der Meulen, son of Ralph and Etta (Keuning) Van Der Meulen, was born August 21, 1931, in Montebello, California. His father, Ralph, was born in Holland, and his mother was born in Iowa.

Marian Joan Leistiko, daughter of Adolph and Ruth Leistiko was born in Lynden, Washington. (Marian usually goes by "Pat" short for "Patty", a tag she got from her sister, as a child, who thought that Marian's favorite game "patty cake" was her name). When her parents divorced and her mother remarried, Pat and her sister Katheryn lived with her mother and step father on his small dairy farm in the Nooksack Valley. Pat graduated from the Nooksack Valley High School.

Peter and Pat married October 19, 1954 in Coeur d' Alene Idaho. and moved to Artesia, California. Pat worked as a seamstress while her children were growing up, then worked in a laundry until she retired. Peter and Pat had three children:

Karen Annetta Van Der Meulen Born in 1955 in Artesia, California.
Lorrie Kay Van Der Meulen Born in 1959 in Artesia, California.
Sandra Lee Van Der Meulen Born in 1968 in Orange, California.

Peter and Pat moved back to Washington in 1975. Her youngest daughter Sandra graduated from the same high school as her mother, the Nooksack Valley High School. Pete and Pat divorced.

Basil Martinez, Jr., is the son of Basil Martinez Sr. and Sally (Sandoval) Martinez. Basil was born in Bakersfield, California. His mother Sally was born in Miami Arizona. Basil graduated from Bakersfield High school and Santa Monica Community College. Basil is a meat cutter.

Pat married to Basil in 1992.
