Adolph and Ruth Leistiko

Adolph Leistiko 1933.

Adolph Ludwig Leistiko, son of William and Maria Leistiko, was born in Heimdahl, North Dakota in 1905. In 1933, Adolph married Ruth Mehlhaff in Wells County, North Dakota. Ruth was the daughter of Frederick Mehlhaff and Katherine (George) Mehlhaff, and was born in Tuttle N.D. in May 1916. Her father, Fred, was born in Neudorf, Russia. His parents had immigrated to Russia from Germany. Her mother, Katherine, was born in North Dakota.

Adolph and Ruth had two children:

Adolph and Ruth divorced. Ruth remarried to Dick Pen in 1940 and lived, with her 2 daughters, on her husband's small dairy farm in the Nooksack Valley in Washington.

Adolph also remarried. His new wife Jean had 5 children from a previous marriage.
