Robert and Shirley Nims

Robert Paul "Bob" Nims, son of Paul and Gladys (Lindsay) Nims, was born in Bellingham, Washington, in 1924.

Bob attended Rome and Harmony grade schools, and Mt. Baker High, graduating in 1943. He joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific during the latter phases of World War II.

Upon returning home, Bob married Shirley Howell.

Bob worked as a logger until 1951, then as a journeyman auto mechanic for eighteen years, and finally in car sales until retirement. Bob still works part time as a mechanic and in sales. Bob and Shirley enjoy traveling. They moved to Bellingham in 1951 and were still living there in 2001.
