James and Sarah Thompson

James Thompson emmigrated to the United States via Canada. He married Sarah Gilliland and they kept a boarding house east of the Alleghenies. They later moved to Beaver Bounty, Pennsylvania. (From records of John A. Hogg, Jr.).

James and Sarah had the following children:

Jane ThompsonBorn December 16, 1804. Married Richard Baker.
Catherine ThompsonBorn July 15, 1807. Married Richard Baker.
Sarah ThompsonBorn July 16, 1809. Married Samuel Sherlock.
Elizabeth ThompsonBorn January 28, 1812. Married John Irwin.
Moses ThompsonBorn April 18, 1814. Married Jennie McCandless.
Mathilda ThompsonBorn February 22, 1816. Died June 1, 1845
John ThompsonBorn May 3, 1818. Married Mary Ann Turk.
Arabella ThompsonBorn April 22, 1822. Married Edwin Tinker.
James ThompsonBorn May 7, 1823. Married Ann Coovert. Killed in the Civil War at the Battle of Gaines Mill on June 27, 1862.
Minerva ThompsonBorn June 23, 1825. Married William Hall.
Andrew ThompsonBorn February 1, 1828. Died january 12, 1862.
Emiline ThompsonBorn April 23, 1829. Married Will Mortland. Died September 5, 1899
